About Umeå Outdoor

nature is a part of being human, and being human is being part of nature.

My name is Ola Söderlund, and I am the person behind Umeå Outdoor. I live in Tavelsjö, a small village about 30 km northwest of Umeå. I love being outdoors!

I've always enjoyed being outside. In nature, there's always something to discover, something to see, and things to marvel at. When I'm outdoors, it doesn't really matter what I'm doing, the most important thing is that I'm there – often just being there is enough.

If I get to choose, I prefer simple hiking or cycling with my dog Greta. I like to combine this with spending the night outdoors.

Just sitting by a fire is another thing that makes me feel alive. It doesn't get more genuine than that. The same goes for spending a night outside.

If I can't be active in the outdoors daily, it feels like something is missing, and restlessness quickly sets in, but the remedy is simple!

The purpose of Umeå Outdoor is to make it possible for more people to experience Umeå's beautiful nature through memorable experiences.

Our mission is to help you create unforgettable experiences in nature

We want to enable everyone who visits Umeå to go out and explore what the nature around the city has to offer, while also showcasing what makes it unique.

A tour with us should create lasting memories and a desire to explore nature on your own.

Our promise to you!

We only guide in small groups, preferably no more than 6 people, and always just one party at a time.

We do this because we are convinced that this way provide you with the best experience. It allows us to connect on a whole different level and gives us the flexibility to adjust the tour to make it as great as possible for you.
